Marianne Williamson is an internationally acclaimed lecturer, activist and author of four No 1 New York Times bestselling books. She has been one of America’s most well known public voices for more than three decades. Seven of her twelve published books have been New York Times bestsellers and Marianne has been a popular guest on television programs such as Oprah, Good Morning America, and Bill Maher. A quote from this book which has sold over one million copies, “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure…” is considered an anthem for a contemporary generation of spiritual seekers.
This is a book of extraordinary depth and honesty. Marianne is an incredible writer and brings the reader to a place of deep understanding about the true meaning of love which is not to be confused with the sentimental, romantic type that is so often expressed in love songs and romantic movies. Her message is that love is our ultimate truth and the core of who we really are. However, I would very much differ with her understanding of the human ego because, for me, ego is a myth and is not the enemy that it is so often portrayed to be. But this difference is the source of creativity and reading amazing authors such as Marianne Williamson has helped me enormously to arrive at my own conclusions about the human experience. This book is one of my top five and I highly recommend that you read it. In fact, read it twice!
